A curated presentation of textiles, art, and objects

Rhoswens participated in the Mid-Atlantic Antiques & Garden Festival, held on October 25 and 26, 2025, presenting a curated booth centered around textiles, rugs, and decorative objects.

Our space brought together kilims, antique rugs, mid-century Swedish shag rugs, tribal pillows, and decorative objects, arranged to create a layered and immersive environment.

The Presentation

The booth was conceived as a complete interior—inviting, tactile, and grounded in material.

A backdrop of antique rugs defined the walls, while kilims and other flatweaves extended across the floor, creating continuity in pattern and tone. The palette moved through deep reds, indigo blues, and warm earth tones, balanced by softer neutrals.

At the center, curated tables with glassware and decorative objects introduced structure and refinement, while textiles and pillows added a sense of comfort and scale.

Material & Character

Each element contributed to a dialogue of texture and craftsmanship:

  • Kilims — pileless, handwoven flatweaves defined by geometry and clarity
  • Antique rugs — dense, detailed, and rich in history
  • Mid-century Swedish shag rugs — soft, tactile, and contrasting in form

Together, they created a composition that felt both layered and balanced, bridging traditional craftsmanship with contemporary interiors.

Atmosphere

Set within the open, natural landscape of the festival, the booth offered a quiet contrast between the richness of the materials and the simplicity of the surroundings.

Visitors engaged closely with the pieces—exploring texture, color, and scale—bringing the space to life through interaction and movement.
