Aix La Chapelle Farm · Poolesville, Maryland

Rhoswens participated in the Spring 2026 edition of the Mid-Atlantic Antiques & Garden Festival, held at Aix La Chapelle Farm in Poolesville, Maryland.

Over the course of the weekend, our presentation brought together a curated selection of antique rugs, vintage textiles, decorative objects, and fine art within a layered and residential-style setting.

The booth was conceived as an immersive interior rather than a traditional display, combining texture, material, and atmosphere through carefully arranged objects, seating, lighting, and textiles.

The Presentation

Throughout the space, antique rugs and kilims were paired with decorative objects and framed works, creating visual continuity between textiles, furniture, and art.

Selections included:

  • Antique and vintage rugs
  • Tribal and flat-woven kilims
  • Mid-century Swedish shag rugs and French tapestries
  • Decorative objects
  • Framed artworks and works on paper
  • Vintage textiles

The presentation focused on natural materials, layered surfaces, and collected forms intended to feel lived with rather than staged.

Guest Experience

The festival brought together collectors, designers, dealers, and visitors from across the region for a weekend centered around antiques, design, gardens, and craftsmanship.

In addition to the fair itself, guests experienced:

  • A Farm-to-Table Dinner Under the Stars
  • Historic tours of Aix-la-Chapelle Farm
  • Garden and landscape experiences
  • Curated dealer presentations

The atmosphere throughout the weekend was relaxed and conversational, allowing visitors to spend time closely viewing works and engaging directly with exhibitors.

Collaboration with Federica Donat

This year’s booth presentation included selections and styling in collaboration with Federica Donat. Her approach introduced an additional residential and European sensibility to the space, balancing antiques and textiles with a softer and more lived-in arrangement. The collaboration emphasized warmth, materiality, and the relationship between objects and interiors.

We highly recommend Federica for interior design and styling projects.
